Well, it's a day after Thanksgiving, anyone feeling like a fatty now?! I know I sure do! :P. OH! Before I forget, Thanks Joholdenhan for commenting! I really don't know how to reply comments ... haha... but I'll figure out a way!! And YES. Boys just suck in a way, don't you think? Sometimes, I totally wish they'd all die out. But yeah, whats a world without cute guys?! So, today, I'll probably have 2 'Day 3' blogs, only because I think this is an important topic I'd like to share! So, having a fat day? I sure do! I mean, i had Thanksgiving lunch on Sunday (with my church), and a Thanksgiving dinner on the friday, and believe me, eating 2 courses full of starches, is NOT a great feeling! Honestly. I feel like a fat bum today! Well... sorta. I mean, my family kinda started up our own tradition during Thanksgiving! Instead of an actual Thanksgiving dinner, we have a Hot Pot instead. Believe me, it's yummy! ;).
So, how to control your eating on holidays, like Christmas, birthdays, and even on cruises?! Well, here is what I live by :
1) Know your own limit!
2) NEVER, and I mean NEVER, over stuff yourself. It's a horrible feeling, and you gain TONS.
3) Choose your selections carefully! Thanksgiving and cruises tend to have AMAZING foods, but pick and choose wisely. Personally, I try to stay away from starches, but it gets to me.
4) Eat slow. That way, your stomach will know when you've reached it's max, AND, you can enjoy ALL of the foods there!!
5) Have a smaller portion. Having too much results in what I call, 'Fat-i-tosis'
6) Try to stay away from starches. Potatoes and rice are SO full of starches, you actually gain from them! The starches convert into it's own fat, and it's hard to get rid of them!
7) Don't pile on tons of fried food. Like #3, stick to greens, veggies, and fruits.
8) Don't be greedy!
9) Don't eat alot the meal before. Have something small, so you can eat more during your big meal! On cruises, it'll be a challenge, but, honestly, after a few days of that, your body will self adjust to your portions.
10) Have at least a whole glass to half a glass of water before your meals. The water will trick your body into being partially full, so referring to tip #5, thins will make it a whole heck lot easier.
What has this got to do with anything? Well, I've been struggling with weight for a few years now, and although I have (supposedly, according to everyone), I've lost quite a bit. So, what do I do on cruises? Well, I love veggies and fruits, so it was a whole lot easier for me. But give them a try even though you don't like them!! At dinner, I choose to eat less rice/pasta, and rather eat more meat, even though they give you the fat too. Reasearch say, by having at least 2 pounds of meat, so maybe... like a hamburger?, it'll help control our weight. A few food/drinks that are proven to help you crontrol your weight would be :
1) Milk. The antibiotics there helps your body heathly, not just making your bones stronger, but keeps a well balanced weight.
2) Green Tea. Weird? I know, but hey, it works for me! I drink at least 2 cups of green tea everyday, and I guess I ahve lost quite a bit.
3) Vegtables. Well, they aren't very high in calories, but hey, eating them, helps maintain a nice weight! Did you know, celery has NEGATIVE calories?! What does that mean? Well... that means, by eating 1stick of celery, it'll take MORE calories to digest it that to consume it?! So in a way yes, eating only celery for the rest of your life would definately keep your weight down.
4) Fruits. Healthy, delicious snack, that I myself enjoy very much. I'm not 100% sure about what fruits actually help with weight, but they're good for you anyways. They have 100% natural sugar, which is a whole HECK lot healthier than artificial sugars, such as candy.
5) Not liking milk? Well, you can try yougurts. Activia is the best I think. Weird story. I had my very first Activia yougurt a year ago?, and I felt some weird butterfly feeling in my tummy... Yeah, odd right? But, as the ads say, it does help you!
6) Lactose intolerant? Try soy milk. It's yummy, and healthy at the same time. Well... I THINK you have soy milk... :/ Yeah... I was never too good at that stuff :P
Hmmm... these are just a few of the tips that can help you. It's like a diet plan, isn't it? Well, personally, I go by everything, except milk. I dislike the taste off it, but I still have chocolate and soy milk. Vanilla Milk To Go is like the closest to plain milk as I've ever gotten. So, what can you do the after you have ingested all the yummy foods? Well, you can :
1) The day after, try to eat a little less that usual, but still eating.
2) Have a healthier selection of foods.
3) Having not 3 meals a day, but 5. Breakfast, a snack 3 hours AFTER breakfast still making room for lunch, then lunch (you'll probably eat less at lunch than usual.), a snack 3 hours after that, so probably after school, and finally, dinner. Why? Well, that increases your metabolism, and it totally helps you control weight!
4) Instead of having chips inbetween your 3 core meals, have fruit slices, cups and veggie cut up for you. You may dip it in ranch, but be aware that creamy dressings/dips are full of wayy more fat than vinagarettes, but who dips veggies in that!?
5) Try to work out a bit, and not be a couch potato!
Wait. There is ONE golden rule I have to totally throw out! DO NOT have dessert 4 hours or less before you sleep! It takes, the average person at least, 4 hours to DIGEST your food, so by sleeping say... 3 hours after your last meal, your actually gaining it! No matter what you have in the morning, like soccor, cross country, practice, never sleep within 4 hours after you last eat. They become trans fat, which is like, impossible to get rid of!
Make your self feel pretty! Wear your comfy, yet shows your body off nicely clothes, which doesn't include CLEVEAGE!! Then, look at yourself in the mirror, and repeat this : I am beautiful. Over and over, until you believe you are. I throw on a bit of make up too. A person that totally makes me feel comfortable around, are probably my friends. They don;t judge the way I look, and Demi Lovato. She is my role model. She NEVER lets herself go after people call her fat. But in truth, she isn't fat at all! It may be some leftover baby fat, but it'll go away. NEVER starve yourself, binge or throw up your food. That only makes yout body crave food more,a dn WHA-BAM, all the 'pounds' you lost from that, will return... 10 times worse.
I hope these have helped you!! I know, I still feel like a fatty, but here I am, 3 in the morning, sitting and blogging this out, wearing a soft black shirt from Forever 21, and loose and comfy PJ bottoms, feeling... slightly better I guess, after my weekend of eating tons! Hopefully you feel better after trying out these tips! You can use them on a daily basis, even though I would say ALOT is repeated!! But hey, they actually work! No joke! Instead of gaining on my last cruise, I lost a good 3-4 pounds. So, try them out, and hey, reccomend some tips to friends! And one more thing... YOU ARE NOT FAT! We are all beautiful in whatever shape we are in. You must NEVER say you are fat, because that is just a load of poop!! No jokes. If anyone calls you fat, take it as a compliment, besides, I think it goes 'Put downs are the best form of flattery'! They might even be jealous of you! ;)
Have a wonderful week, and I hope to have more tips on how to help you!!
God Bless you guys!
